Description: A seaman hands a cookie to a Japanese girl with a baby on her back outside the American Red Cross canteen in Yokohama, Japan, in September 1945. The official ARC caption for the photo reads, "American servicemen are always suckers for babies! Seaman 1st class Robert Spiegl, 5712 North Western ave., Chicago, Ill., gives a cookie to a Japanese child outside the first Red Cross club and canteen to be opened in Japan."
