Description: Ginny Bowman sits on a balcony railing in Brisbane, Australia, in October 1944. She and Esther Gilbert ran the nurse and Red Cross rest billets in Baysmere and Queenscliff. Bowman wears a khaki shirt and slacks with boots, possibly the WAC (Women's Army Corps) summer work uniform. Red Cross workers were authorized to be issued army uniforms and equipment when necessary.
