J.R. Stewart Saloon, Then & Now

The J.R. Stewart Saloon at 346 South Elm Street, Greensboro, far left in the above image, now houses Little Brother Brewing.

346 South Elm Street in Greensboro originally housed the C.C. Shoffner Saloon starting around 1899. By 1904 the Shoffner had moved down the road to 360 South Elm St., and the J.R. Stewart Saloon had moved in.

After the passage of the Ward Law in 1905, a wide variety of businesses were housed in the building (346/348 S. Elm), including:

In 2017, Little Brother Brewing opened in 348 S. Elm Street, the first business in the building since 1905 wherein the serving of alcohol was the primary function.
