Teachers Assembly and letters from W.A. Blair of the People's National Bank of Winston, NC and letters from him. Also included is a pamphlet of the 1891 graduating class of the Mississippi Industrial Institute and College.

Notes and papers chiefly concerning the financial activities of the Alumni Association of the State and Normal College for Women in 1891. Topics include froms and notes from the Citizens National Bank, a possible draft for the schools alma matter, and a typed report to the executieve commitee concerning the fundraising of the alumin association. There are several lists of names of donors, their contribution amounts and location from which they were recieved. Some of the letters detail the creation of alumni based scholarships.

An 1891 issue of the North Carolina University Magazine published by the students of what is currently the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This periodical was from the papers of W. C. Smith, who highlights a section on p. 168 which reveals that Dr. Charles Duncan McIver was considered a candidate for the presidency of the University of North Carolina following the resignation of Dr. Kemp P. Battle in 1891 to become Alumni Professor of History. This periodical includes several essays, poems, and stories like “A Sketch of the Life of Governor Thomas Bragg” by Pulaski Cowper, and “The Negro Must Remain In The South” by Plato Collins.

Architectural drawing of the State Normal & Industrial School by Epps & Hackett Architects in 1891. In this drawing the Main Building (on the left) and the Brick Dormitory (on the right) can be seen. The Foust building, designed by Epps & Hackett of Greensboro, North Carolina, was opened in 1892 and wings were added in 1895. From 1892 to 1908, the building was called Main Building and from 1908 to 1960 it was called Administration Building. In 1960, the building was named in honor of Julius Isaac Foust, president of college from 1906 to 1934. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Brick Dormitory, designed by Epps & Hackett of Greensboro, North Carolina, opened in 1892 and was one of the original buildings and primary dormitory. It was expanded in 1895 and included a kitchen, an infirmary room, and a dining hall. The dormitory was destroyed by fire on January 20, 1904, with all of the residents escaping unharmed.
