This scrapbook, dating between 1916 and 1917, was created by representatives of Company K, Third Infantry, North Carolina National Guard. The scrapbook contains a printed narrative history of Company K, which was first organized in Asheboro, NC in 1911. Other contents include annotated photographs of Company personnel and a complete roster of Company K members.

Brockman, Felix E.

Brockmann’s recollections of World War I, the servicemen from Greensboro and how the conflict had changed people’s lives for “better or worse -- but [they were] not the same”. The author lists every soldier from Greensboro and describes their commutes to Camp Jackson at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and training camps at Greenville, South Carolina. Brockmann describes service with the Medical Officers Training Camp (MOTC), and the Reserve Infantry Officers Training Camp. Also included in the text are letters, recollections, photos and even poems which document the lives of those in service from Greensboro.

This scrapbook, created by Margaret Catherine Moore, documents Moore's experience as a college student during the years 1931-1935, as the North Carolina College for Women transitioned to Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). The scrapbook is divided into sections by school year, and contains Athletic Association handbooks for 1931-1934, numerous programs from and tickets to Playlikers performances, and documentation of student activities, including Student Council, Senior "Unmusical," hockey coaching, and Big Sisters. Also included are correspondence, photographs, and postcards relating to the Student Government camp held at Roaring Gap, North Carolina; and the "Blue Book Primer for Bright Budding Beginners," a handbook including class songs, places of interest, and dos and don'ts. There are many handwritten notes in the scrapbook, some from students of the Curry School, where Moore student taught physical education.

This scrapbook, created by Caroline Morrison Garrett between 1940 and 1942, documents Morrison's freshman and sophomore years at Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Caroline Morrison Garrett (born in 1921) of Bethel, Connecticut, served as a dietitian in the Army Medical Corps from 1944 to 1947. The scrapbook contains Morrison's certificate of entrance credit, ephemera relating to the Dikean Society, playbills from campus, New York, and Connecticut; materials relating to Episcopalian activities on campus; and the "Blue Back Primer for Bright Budding Beginners," containing songs, poems, and advice for new students.
