This scrapbook contains multiple newspaper clippings highlighting the growth, events and achievements of the staff and student body between 1934 and 1937. Highlighted are the successes of notable namesakes of current A&T departments including Richard B. Harrison's tour in "The Green Pastures", the rise of the art department under H. Taylor Clinton, J. H. Marteena as head of the mechanical department and the dedication of the Marcus Cicero Stephens Noble Hall building. Visits from noted educators include George Washington Carver, Nannie Helen Burroughs and J. A. Tarpley. Many articles detail concerns of statewide school officials for the growing need of teachers. Researchers can also read of past victories of the football, basketball and tennis teams, the debate club and performances of the college bands and choirs.

This scrapbook is a large collection of various documents from 1933 to 1939 assembled by one North Carolina A&T State University student. Rare photographs, greeting & invitation cards, telegraphs and other rare ephemera document student Virgil C. Stroud's journey as editor in chief of the A&T Register and as a member of the A&T Choral Group. His scrapbook collection also has rare pamphlets for summer and spring commencements, choral/vespers programs and flyers & invitations to campus or community organizations. Especially unique are an invitation to the dedication of the Richard B. Harrison Auditorium, tickets to Aggie season games and a brochure for a 1938 performance by Kryl and his symphony orchestra. Also there are many rare photographs, letters and notes from Aggie staff and fellow students including F. D. Bluford, W.T. Gibbs and various student associations.

Also included are campus event news clippings, a dance booklet and invitation, a primer for new students, a letter from Heta Hohn, a class ring envelope, and a program from the Christmas performance titled "Christmas Music Down the Ages." In addition, there is a directory booklet from the fiftieth reunion held in 1993.

Also included are dance cards from various events and a script and program from the Senior Unmusical titled "So Help Me." In addition, there are alumnae directories, biographies, and other materials pertaining to class reunions in 1956, 1986, and 1996. Of particular interest is a letter written in 1956 from Gordon J. Von Abrams notifying the class of the death of his wife, Margery Elaine Hand Von Abrams.

Of particular interest is a script titled "Democracy in Action at W.C." written by Nancy Beam Funderburk Wells in 1948 for the Student Government Association.
