Highlighted are the successes of notable namesakes of current A&T departments including Richard B. Harrison's tour in "The Green Pastures", the rise of the art department under H. Taylor Clinton, J. H. Marteena as head of the mechanical department and the dedication of the Marcus Cicero Stephens Noble Hall building. Visits from noted educators include George Washington Carver, Nannie Helen Burroughs and J. A. Tarpley. Many articles detail concerns of statewide school officials for the growing need of teachers. Researchers can also read of past victories of the football, basketball and tennis teams, the debate club and performances of the college bands and choirs.

Well covered events include the death and mourning of Richard B. Harrison, plus an ongoing student protest against the on-campus housing and food conditions and the university's response to parents and state officials. This collection also highlights many on campus musical performances are also detailed. These include traveling performers like opera singer Caterina Jarboro as well as local performances from the Bennett College Glee Club and the Dudley Choral Club. Also highlighted are lectures by William Stanley Braithwaite, the Rev. Dr. W. A. Stanbury and Rev. Benjamin E. Mays.

This scrapbook is a collection of newspaper clippings of events related to North Carolina A&T State University between September 1937 and October 1940. Notable highlights include the development and approval of new campus buildings, which include the Dudley Auditorium. Numerous speakers to campus during this time included Dudley High School principal Dr. John Tarpley, writer George Schuyler and Guilford College Dean, the Rev. A.D. Beittel. Macy's pioneering puppeteer Tony Sarg and contralto/actress Etta Moten (Barnett) are among many visiting performers. Fundraisers, meetings, concerts, conferences, the Aggie Football season, the creation of the aviation program and state high school debates hosted on the campus are also to be rediscovered in this volume.

This scrapbook is a large collection of various documents from 1933 to 1939 assembled by one North Carolina A&T State University student. Rare photographs, greeting & invitation cards, telegraphs and other rare ephemera document student Virgil C. Stroud's journey as editor in chief of the A&T Register and as a member of the A&T Choral Group. His scrapbook collection also has rare pamphlets for summer and spring commencements, choral/vespers programs and flyers & invitations to campus or community organizations. Especially unique are an invitation to the dedication of the Richard B. Harrison Auditorium, tickets to Aggie season games and a brochure for a 1938 performance by Kryl and his symphony orchestra. Also there are many rare photographs, letters and notes from Aggie staff and fellow students including F. D. Bluford, W.T. Gibbs and various student associations.

The Class of 1923 folder contains material pertaining to the 1923 graduating class of North Carolina College for Women (NC College for Women, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro). Included in the folder are programs from the 1923 Baccalaureate Sermon, the Banquet, the Class Day, the Commencement Concert, the Vesper Service, and the Commencement Weekend. Other programs include the Annual Field Day, and a play titled "Green Stocking." Of note is a composition notebook with class notes on various subjects. There is a letter with an update of the lives of the 1923 Alumnae which includes a short biographical summary. There are also three alumnae directories, included are the years1958, 1963, and 1973, which includes a short biographical summary of the lives of the 1923 Alumnae. Also included is a newpaper clipping in ""Choice Gossip""dated June 4th 1927.

Articles and research correspondence from 1900 to 1980 assembled to figure out when Dr. Charles Duncan McIver may have first utter the famous phrase “If you educate a man and you educate an individual; if educate a woman, you educate a family” and determine its widespread use. Topics include a letter by Ms. Blanche Jantzen UNCG Special Collection Librarian to Ms. Marian Engel of the University of Alberta who used the quote in her novel “The Glassy Sea”, an article “Charles Duncan McIver and His Educational Services, 1886-1946” by Charles L. Coon, and another article by “The Mountain Herald” quoting Dr. McIver’s article from the “Southern Farm Magazine” a section of a 1971 issue of the Library Column noting how the quote was used in Ghana and multiple newspaper clips.
