Hear's My Story: Senior Voices in Greensboro

HEAR'S MY STORY, Senior Voices in Greensboro

Senior Resources of Guilford

sponsor logos

This project depended completely on the passionate and engaged participation of Senior Resources of Guilford, a non-profit organization that promotes the independent living of older adults in Guilford County. This United Way member agency serves adults age sixty and over and their families with community-based activities and supportive services, from home-delivered meals to employment training and volunteer opportunities.

One of the services Senior Resources offers is the Greensboro Senior Center. The Center, located downtown at 301 East Washington Street, invites senior adults to get together Monday through Friday for recreation, field trips, cultural presentations, volunteer activities, and a nutritious noontime meal.

As well, the Center offers outreach programs to Russian, Serbo- Croatian/Bosnian, Vietnamese, and Montagnard adults age sixty and over with refugee status. Activities include cultural-awareness programs, health screenings, citizenship training, and classes in English as a second language.
