Biographical/Historical note:
The China Grove Committee to Smash the Klan was apparently an ad hoc group related to the Communist Workers Party, U.S.A., that organized a rally in China Grove, N.C., on July 21, 1979 where supporters clashed with Ku Klux Klan members. The incident was a precursor to the November 3, 1979 Death to the Klan march that took place in Greensboro and left five of the protesters dead.
