Biographical/Historical note: Frances Falck was born in Winesheik County, Iowa, on April 5, 1926. She earned a BA in 1948 from the State University of Iowa and a MA in 1956 from the University of Illinois. She was employed as a high school physical education teacher from 1950 to 1956. She was hired as a physical education instructor at The Woman's College of The University of North Carolina (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro) in 1956.
