Roland Wayne Wood
Wood was one of the Ku Klux Klan and Nazi party members arrested following the November 3, 1979, Death to the Klan rally in Greensboro, N.C., where five protesters were shot and killed. At the time of his arrest, he was a 34-year-old construction worker living in Winston-Salem, N.C., with an arrest record dating to 1959. Wood was acquitted of murder charges in 1980, but was found to be liable in the shootings during a 1985 civil trial.
