Roy Clinton Toney
Toney was one of the Ku Klux Klan and Nazi party members arrested following the November 3, 1979, Death to the Klan rally in Greensboro, N.C., where five protesters were shot and killed. At the time of his arrest, he was a 32-year-old textile and service station worker. Toney was acquitted of murder charges in 1980 and of civil rights charges in 1984, and was found not to be liable in the shootings during a 1985 civil trial.
