Description: This February 27, 1969 editorial published in the Guilford College student newspaper, The Guilfordian, discusses the true victims of violent action as related to the civil rights movement. Reflecting on recent riots around the country from Detroit to Watts, the author claims that, “Riots only compound the mistreatment of an oppressed people.” and that the true victims during such actions were the oppressed people themselves.
