Description:
The 1975 UNCG yearbook, Pine Needles, shows substantial growth of the African American student population. A student essay on Black Studies gives some insight into how these courses were received by African American students. Candid photographs show activities of the Neo-Black Society and growing involvement of African American students in predominately white student organizations. Sample pages of class portraits show a representative black to white student ratio.
