Description: In this October 30, 1948 article in the Guilford College student newspaper, The Guilfordian, staff describe the Sunday afternoon tea on Guilford College’s campus which included Inter-Racial Club (IRC) members as well as non-member students and faculty from Guilford and other area colleges. The tea was attended by about one hundred students and offered an opportunity for students of differing races to get acquainted and enjoy the festivities. This was the first event of its kind in Guilford’s history and was deemed a success.
