Description:
The 1963 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, shows an increase in diversity at the school through candid shots of students and faculty, and in sports team portraits, which include African and other international students. This was the first year that Africans were a part of the campus student community. Also notable is the 1963 soccer team which was predominantly international and thereby indicates minority students were representing the school during the team's first year.
