This December 15, 1955, press release from the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina (WCUNC) News Bureau discusses a statement on desegregation issued by the WCUNC Faculty Council. The statement, presented by Warren Ashby, affirmed faculty support for desegregation, and was approved by a 96-24 vote of council members, but was a less comprehensive version than Ashby had initially introduced.
