Description: This is an uncredited six-page report (possibly written by Chancellor James Sharbrough Ferguson) on the controversial Black Power Forum held on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) November 1-3, 1967. The report discusses the organization of the forum and the involvement of the university administration and the UNCG Student Government Association. It lists speakers and notes attendance figures, including an estimate that only 600 of the 2,000 attendees were affiliated with UNCG. The writer also discusses his concerns about the forum and about the Black Power movement in general, but defends the decision to hold the forum as an educational exercise. on the top of the first page is a handwritten note reading “Original copy filed with Board of Trustees”.
