LL: What happened to you if you messed up, if you didn’t know all the books of the Bible?

JC: You’d start over.

LL: You started over.

JC: Started over.

LL: And you got the switch or--

JC: No, you’d start over, you’d start over. And even if you’re standing there crying, we’d just--everybody’d sit there and wait till you to stopped crying and you’d start over.
But we practiced before we ever would perform to the church body or the parents. And that’s why I think it was very seldom that you didn’t remember because she practiced so much and she had programs quite often.
And you know, and we helped one another. If you messed it up, go back [whispers], “This is what you got to say.” You know, everybody helped one another. So it was very much different than what they were doing in public school.
