History of Physical Education and Dance Collection



This collection contains books dating from the 16th century with emphasis on the 19th century in such areas as gymnastics, exercise for girls and women, and healthful dress. Historically significant dance treatises dating from the 17th century are complemented with a 20th-century collection of books and papers concerning movement education and dance for children.
