The mission of the Special Collections & Rare Books division of UNCG University Libraries is to collect, preserve, and make accessible rare, unique, or otherwise significant books, manuscripts, and artifacts outside of the scope of the general library collection. As part of our mission, we deliver presentations, teach classes, construct exhibitions, and assist researchers with inquiries relating to our collections.
The collections in our division have originated from a number of sources, and evolved over the course of the University's history. Many of the collections came about complimenting the history of the University as a women's college. Currently, our Rare Books division houses have strengths in these areas:
