The Special Collections & Rare Books Division of Jackson Library houses non-circulating books, manuscripts, and artifacts segregated because of their significance, rarity, or uniqueness.

These materials are housed in a secure and climate-controlled environment to ensure their longevity for future generations of patrons. Most of the material in Special Collections & Rare Books can be used by any patron with research needs.

Should you plan to engage in a project or research requiring the use of materials in Special Collections, we urge you to call ahead so that we can assist you more efficiently and perhaps save you some valuable time. Arrangements for class visits must be made in advance.
