Grabbing
an ice cream:
Bryan: You know, I'm kind of concerned about my psych paper.
Julie: Yeah? What's on your mind?
Bryan: It's the research. Have you been in that library? It's huge! And
the computer thing freaks me out.
Julie: It's kind of scary at first. But you'll get over it.
Bryan: I dunno. I just feel like I don't know what I'm doing.
Julie: Bryan, what happened the first time you rode a bike?
Bryan: Heh, I fell off! Screamed bloody murder, too.
Julie: And then what?
Bryan: My dad helped me out. He held the bike for me until I got it going.
And then I was ok.
Julie: Well, this is kind of the same thing. The librarians can help you
get going with the computers. And then you'll be doing it on your own.
You're going to do fine!
Questions
to consider:
- In what
ways is a large university library like Jackson Library similar to other
libraries you have used? How is it different?
- Do you
have a library card for your hometown public library?
