Next on the list of things to do...

So, Bryan found some books in the online catalog. He can check that off his list of things to do. Now, he needs to find some articles from scholarly journals, magazines or newspapers.

Research Paper

Write a 5 to 7-page paper about the psychology topic of your choice. You must find at least 5 sources on your topic other than your textbook. You must have a variety of sources in your bibliography, no more than 2 of any type. Possible types of sources include:

    books

articles from scholarly journals, magazines and/or newspapers

    websites

P.S. A good place to start is the library!

First of all, let's review what you already know about this type of information source.

Back in Chapter Two, you learned that magazines, journals and newspapers are all types of periodicals, so called because they are published periodically (every day or every week, for example). You also learned that the tools you use to get access to the contents of periodicals are called periodical databases.

That's why Bryan was having trouble finding articles. He was using the wrong information tool. As Sara said, he should have used a periodical database instead. (Bryan needs to review Chapter Two.)
