Citing an article in APA style

Step One:
Type the authors' names in the blank below.
Step Two:
Type the publication year in the blank below.
Step Three:
Type the article title in the blank below.
Step Four:
Type the journal title in the blank below.
Step Five:
Type the volume number in the blank below.
Step Six:
Type the page numbers in the blank below.
Here are the rules:
- Lastname, Initials.
- If more than one author:
   - list authors in the order given
   - use an ampersand (&), not the word "and"

Examples:
Durant, W.
Farmer, S. & Wisenberg, A. W. (2 authors)
Miller, A. L., Rosen, S. A. & Kraal, D. (3 authors)

- Enclose in parentheses the copyright year.
- Follow the year with a period.

Example:
(2001).

- Take the title from the first page of the article.
- Give the full title, and separate the main title from the subtitle with a colon.
- Capitalize proper names, and the first word of the title and subtitle.
- End the title with a period.

Examples:
New voices: The computer in music.
Why Ernie can't read.

- Give the full title and separate the main title from the subtitle with a colon.
- Capitalize important words and the first word of the title and subtitle (if any).
- Italicize the journal title, end it with a comma.

Examples:
Journal of Communication,
William and Mary Quarterly,

- Take the volume number from the publication information, and follow it with a comma.
- Italicize the volume number.

Examples:
3,
21,

- Give the starting and ending page numbers for the article.
- Page numbers are followed by a period.

Examples:
35-40.
200-210.
