These resources for finding data from surveys and polls include databases, journals, and polling and research centers. They are arranged with general and most useful sources at the top and sources that are more specific or have less coverage at the bottom of the list. Surveys and polls with international coverage are included at the bottom of the list. The
icon indicates sources that are available in some form on the World Wide Web, while others are restricted to UNCG users.
Gallup Brain (Restricted to UNCG community) 
- Provides over 70 years of public opinion polls, including answers to more than 136,000 questions asked of 3.5 million people.
- Also provides Gallup Poll News Service articles, Gallup Poll Tuesday Briefing articles, and Gallup Management Journal articles with in-depth public opinion and management data analyses.

Polling the Nations (Restricted to UNCG community)
- Covers over 4,000 subjects including public health, social issues, political science, and current events.
- Provides 14,000 surveys conducted by more than 700 polling organizations in the United States and internationally.
- Provides the complete text of questions and aggregate responses for each poll.
- Includes a history of public opinion polling and explains how polling is conducted.
- Coverage 1986-present.
The Pew Research Center 
- Covers U.S. public opinion, global attitudes, the impact of the internet on American life, the role of religion in public life, the changing experiences of Hispanics in the United States, and policy trends throughout the 50 states.
- Provides survey reports, datasets, and commentary on issues of public opinion.
- The six projects of the Pew Research Center use public opinion polling and social science research to report on and analyze trends in values and attitudes.
- The Pew Research Center is "a nonpartisan 'fact tank' that provides information on the issues, attitudes, and trends shaping America and the world."
- Dates of coverage vary by project, most 1990s to present.
Public Agenda 
- Covers public opinion on a wide range of topics, including controversial issues such as abortion, immigration, and medical research.
- Issue Guides offer facts about controversial issues and analyses of public opinion polls on these issues.
- Free registration allows users to download research reports without charge.
- Public Agenda, a non-partisan research group, conducts public opinion research and publishes studies and guides for citizen education. Public Agenda also seeks to inform national leaders of the public perspective.

The Odum Institute Public Opinion Poll Question Database 
- Covers issues in the social sciences.
- A searchable database of poll questions, response distribution, and survey information from Louis Harris Polls, Carolina Polls, State Polls, the Knight Foundation Community Polls, and Southern Focus Poll.
- Maintained by the Howard W. Odum Institute for Research in Social Science, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
- Includes data 1960s-present.
Pollingreport.com 
- Covers poll results in three broad categories: Politics and Policy, Business/Economy, and American Scene (miscellaneous public opinion issues).
- Results of recent surveys are published twice a month.
- State polls available only to subscribers.
- The electronic journal of The Polling Report, an independent, non-partisan source for American public opinion.
- Most surveys 1998-present.
Harris Interactive 
- Covers diverse public opinion topics.
- A weekly publication
of survey data that measures "knowledge, opinions, behaviors, and motivation of the public."
- Polls are arranged by date and provide a full report including questions and response distribution.
- The Harris Poll, one of the longest running independent opinion polls in the U.S., is conducted by Harris Interactive, a company providing survey and market research for a wide variety of business and public sector clients.
- Coverage 1998-present.
American National Election Studies 
- Covers voting, public opinion, and political participation.
- In addition to downloadable data sets, the site provides access to question files for ANES biennial surveys.
- Quick information is available from the Guide to Public Opinion and Electoral Behavior, which provides summary tables and graphs of responses to a sampling of questions over the history of the ANES surveys.
- ANES is a research group that seeks to explain election outcomes by providing a "view of the political world through the eyes of ordinary citizens."
- Surveys available 1948-present.
Guttmacher Institute 
- Covers topics of gender, sexuality, and reproduction.
- Survey data is given in article format, along with press releases, fact sheets, statistics, and policy analyses
- Also features online versions of Institute periodicals: Guttmacher Report on Public Policy, Family Planning Perspectives, and International Family Planning Perspectives through JSTOR (Restricted to UNCG community)
- The Allan Guttmacher Institute is "a nonprofit organization focused on sexual and reproductive health research, policy analysis and public education."
- Most coverage from late 1990s to present.
Public Opinion Quarterly (Restricted to UNCG community)
- Articles cover issues such as survey validity, questionnaire construction, sampling strategy, and mode of administration.
- A resource for more advanced studies in the theory and methodology of opinion research.
- Provides poll results and analysis in the section “The Polls” in each issue.
- An interdisciplinary journal published since 1937.
- Current Issues from Oxford University Press
- Archived issues 1937-2000 in JSTOR
Europa Public Opinion 
- Eurobarometer surveys and studies in European nations cover public opinion on social, cultural, economic, and political issues.
- Provides qualitative studies as well as searchable survey questions database.
- Recent and key issues are highlighted on the site.
- Provided by The European Commission of the European Union.
- Recent coverage and archives from 1990s forward.
Pew Global Attitudes Project 
- Covers issues of international concern such as globalization, trade, democracy, and terrorism.
- Provides survey reports, commentaries, and datasets.
- A project of the Pew Research Center; public opinion surveys are conducted worldwide.
- Coverage 2001-present.
Zogby International 
- Covers a wide-range of topics from health research for insurance companies to quality of life statistics for the United Nations.
- Zogby News offers press releases and polling data from Zogby's international polling and market research.
- Some services, such as "Real America" publication, only available by subscription.
- Public opinion research company commissioned by various companies in all sectors and several government agencies. Zogby conducts surveys and market research based on the needs of its clientele.
