Reference Interns Program

Now accepting applications for internships
to begin in January 2009

Introduction

Since 1988, reference interns have provided professional-level reference services to patrons of Jackson Library. Interns work at the Reference Desk, with a librarian most hours; some interns also staff our virtual reference service. Interns work 10-20 hours a week during the Fall and Spring semesters, earning $9.00 per hour in their first year. New interns receive 14 hours of paid orientation. In addition, first-year interns are paid to attend an hour-long training session each week.
