Getting EndNote X2 (desktop application)
Setting Up EndNote X2 (desktop application)

Getting EndNote Web

  1. While on campus, create a personal account at http://www.myendnoteweb.com
  2. Once you have your account, use http://www.myendnoteweb.com from any computer with Internet access.

But wait! What if it isn't convenient to come to campus? Can you sign up for EndNote Web from home? Yes, but you need to take these steps:

  1. Enter the database Web of Science: https://library.uncg.edu/dbs/auth/go.asp?vdbID=267
  2. If you are off campus, you will be asked to log in using your Novell user name and password (the same information that you use to log into BlackBoard)
  3. Once you are in Web of Science, click the My EndNote Web link (at the top of the window).
  4. This page will allow you to create an EndNote Web account.
  5. Once you have created your account, you can log in and use http://www.myendnoteweb.com from any computer with Internet access.

No ability to "edit output styles." This is a problem if you need to import references from PubMed. Also no ability to attach pdf full text of an article to a reference.

Getting EndNote X2 (desktop application)

  1. Double click the "UNCG Applications" folder on your desktop.
  2. Double click the "UNCG_Tree" icon.
  3. Double click the "Client community" folder
  4. Double click the "EndNote" icon to install the application.
  5. You MAY get a message stating that keyserver access is required in order to run the application. Hit ok.

No wireless access, no access from off-campus.
