- A free web-based database (requires registration, though)
- Provides detailed U.S. import and export data from 1989 to two months ago.
- Supports searches using HS, SITC, SIC, and NAICS, but you will be using your harmonized code.
Steps for your search:
- Go to the USITC Trade DataWeb.
- Register (it's free).
- On the Main Menu, select "US Total Exports" and then the "Proceed With New Query" button.
- Enter your harmonized number. To the right, select "Display Commodity Description". Select your target country. You can ignore all the other options. Then "Proceed To Next Step".
- You don't need to mess with the "Sort Order Page". Just select "Run Report" at the bottom.
- That's it! Make sure the data looks reasonable, though.
- Let me know if you have any questions or problems with this database.
