• Statistical information includes population, vital statistics, economic activities, employment, ethnic composition, religion, energy production and consumption, communication systems, transportation systems, military statistics, environmental issues and international agreements, and international trade
• Publication of the Central Intelligence Agency

Europa World

• Provides the recent history, government, economics, and other topics for every country and territory in the world.
• Includes a statistical survey (covering area and population, agriculture, industries, finance, external trade, principal trading partners, transportation, and more) and a detailed directory (listing government offices, media sources, trade associations, and more).

KEYWORD Anywhere is the simplest way to search the Library Catalog, but not the most effective.

KEYWORD in Subject searches the subject headings in the catalog records.

• Keyword search using the search connectors AND and OR (example: Globalization and China and Economic)
• Search using the truncation symbol $ (example: Economic$ will find Economic, Economics, Economical)

You can also use SUBJECT begins with ... if you want to try a specific subject heading. Below are some examples.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts

• Covers journals in politics, international relations, government, and public policy.
• Strongest with scholarly journals and books.

Finding Government, IGO, NGO Reports

PAIS International

• Indexes periodicals, books, government documents, reports, and internet sites on public affairs, policy, law, political science, government, and social sciences
• 1972 - present. Abstracts are included since 1985. Also see PAIS Archive (1915-1976).

CIAO (Columbia International Affairs Online)

• A comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs.
• Full text of a wide range of scholarship from 1991 onward, including working papers, occasional papers, research project publications, conference proceedings, and reports from NGOs.
• Includes 45 full text journals.

Northwestern University’s List of International Government Organizations

• Alphabetical list of IGO's. Look for the major organizations such WTO, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), IMF. Within the IGO's website, look for a publications area.

• Alphabetical list of foreign government websites. Includes links to major ministries and departments.

World Development Indicators Online (WDI)

• Covers 550 indicators for over 200 countries and 18 county groups, from 1960 to one year ago.
• Includes social, economic, financial, natural resource, and environmental data.
• Compiles the World Bank's annual data release.

UN Data

• Provides access to more than 300 statistical series.
• Includes United Nations Statistics Division information on merchandise trade, national accounts, demography and population, energy, status of women and industrial commodities production
• Dates vary by series; most begin in the 1970's.
