Web of Science
- Provides citations, author abstracts, and cited references (footnotes
to a scholarly article) to more than 8,100 peer-reviewed science and social science journals.
- Dates of coverage, 1985 to present.
- Corresponds to the Science Citation Index and Social Science Citation
Index. Includes the capability to perform a cited reference search, which
allows you to find articles from journals that have cited a book, a patent,
or another article. Indexes articles, bibliographies, book reviews, editorials,
letters, meeting abstracts, notes, review papers, reviews of software, and
more.
- Useful for identifying the important (ranked) Education journals by using
the Journal Citations Reports for the Science journals (most recent data
on diskette at the Reserves Desk, Jackson Library).
ACM Digital
Library
- Provides the full text of approximately 300 publications of the
Association for Computing Machinery.
- Covers journals, magazines, transactions, proceedings, newsletters, and
publications by affiliated organizations and special interest groups (SIGs).
- Provides customization and tables of contents services.
- Also includes the Online Computing Reviews Service (critical reviews of
the computing literature).
Agricola via the National Agricultural Library
- Provides citations on all aspects of agriculture, including agricultural
economics, geography, agricultural engineering, home economics, animal science,
human nutrition, chemistry, life sciences, energy, natural resources, entomology,
plant diseases, cooperative extension, insect pests and their control, food
science, rural sociology, forestry, and veterinary medicine.
- Includes over 3.5 million citations from 881 sources. Citations
refer to journal literature, government reports, patents, audiovisual materials,
books, book chapters, computer databases and software, maps, manuscripts,
and dissertations acquired by the National Agricultural Library and cooperating
institutions.
AIDSearch
- Provides citations to published research, a dictionary, and data on clinical
trials.
- AIDSearch is a combination of three databases (MEDLINE AIDS/HIV,
AIDSDRUGS, and AIDSTRIALS) providing information about Acquired immunodeficiency
syndrome (AIDS) and related topics.
- All three databases are from the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
- MEDLINE AIDS/HIV is a subset of Medline
providing citations from journal articles, government reports, letters,
technical reports, meeting abstracts/papers, monographs, special publications,
theses, books and audiovisuals covering research, clinical aspects and health
policy issues related to AIDS.
- AIDSDRUGS is a dictionary of chemical and biological agents currently
being evaluated in the AIDS clinical trials covered in AIDSTRIALS.
- AIDSTRIALS includes information about the clinical trials of substances
being tested for use against AIDS, HIV infection, and AIDS-related opportunistic
diseases.

- Books and book chapters, dissertations, standards of practice, and reviews
of educational software packages are also indexed.
Earthscape
- An integrated, interdisciplinary resource that connects the Earth and
environmental sciences with their social, political, and economic dimensions.
- Offers links to web sites for conferences, seminars, books and journal
articles from around the world. Also includes data sets, teaching activities,
teaching resources and current issues discussions.
- Provides a wide range of resources, many in full-text, in earth science,

Nursing

MathSciNet
- Contains more than 1.7 million citations (with abstracts since July 1979)
to books, journals and conference proceedings.
- Covers math, statistics, and computer science, and their applications
in mechanics, physics, engineering, operations research, systems theory
and control, quality control, and other areas.
- Indexes over 59 years of Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical
Publications (from 1940 to the present). Current Mathematical Publications
is a subject index of bibliographic data for recent and forthcoming publications.
Most items are later reviewed in Mathematical Reviews. All items in Mathematical
Reviews appear first in Current Mathematical Publications.
