Look for scholarly journal articles
Academic Search Premier - Guide to journal articles in health, sciences, social sciences, humanities, 1980 - present.
- Type your topic: changing eating behaviors
- “Refine Search” to get fewer results: Scholarly (peer reviewed) journals
- Hit Search button
Each
citation (list of publication details) begins with a hyperlink. Hit it to see:
- Abstract (paragraph describing the article) – read to determine if this is a research article
- Subject links – lead to other articles on this topic
To look for the full text of the article:
- Back out to list of results, look under each citation
- PDF full text = the whole article
- Check for full text = will tell you if the library subscribes to the journal
CINAHL
- Guide to articles published in nursing and public health journals, 1937-present. Much of the content concerns heath care but the search limits are great for public health, including:

PubMed - Leading guide to medical, biomedical, and public health journal articles published early 1950s - present. Made freely available by the National Library of Medicine.

- Hit linked author name for abstract and other info about the article
- To choose citations: place check mark, Send to Clipboard
- Hit Clipboard tab to see your choices
To look for the text of the article:
- Open Journals Database (sidebar of PubMed)
- Search the abbreviated journal title from your citation
- When you’ve found the full journal title, highlight and copy it
- Paste the full journal title into Journal Finder (library home page)
