Try a variety of subject headings for the same concept. 

REMEMBER: To get to the full text of the journal article you must go through the Library's web pages. We have paid for access to the journals. You cannot go to the publisher's page to get an article.

Code of Federal Regulations
Once a law is passed a specific agency is charged with establishing the regulations to enforce it. The CFR contains the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government such as the EPA, NOAA, and the Fish and Wildlife Service. It is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to federal regulation.

An easy-to-learn mapping system that creates maps showing 1990 Census population and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) data on super fund and hazardous waste sites for local communities.

Remote Sensing Tutorials and Websites
A compilation of links to remote sensing tutorials for all educational levels and websites including glossaries.

Water Resources Research Institute
This website displays summaries of reports from NC State University WRRI. Many of the reports cover water quality problems in North Carolina. Reports are available for a few dollars each from NCSU or the Library may be able to acquire a copy on Interlibrary Loan.

NCSU/NCA&T Cooperative Extension
Links to state water quality information provided by the Cooperative Extension service. Note some of the reports under the heading "Pollution."

Water Quality and Waste Management
Short reports on chemicals and other pollutants in the State's water supply.

Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry
This shows the 2003 report released concerning a survey of childhood cancers and birth defects at Camp Lejeune, possibly as a result of chemicals which contaminated the well water. The survey covers 12,600 children born between 1968 and 1985.
