Introduction

Library Resources

The University Libraries provide online access to library catalogs, databases, journals, and Journal Finder. The University Libraries catalog may be used by anyone, but most of the other resources are subscriptions.

When you click on a subscription resource from off-campus, you will be asked for your UNCG Novell username and password (the same you use for eSpartan email and Blackboard). If you have any difficulty logging into these resources, consult the Troubleshooting Online Access Page.

Catalogs

Databases: useful in identifying articles on your topic.

Journal Finder: useful in finding out whether we have a subscription to a particular journal. Most of our databases have Journal Finder links next to article citations. You can also open Journal Finder from the library homepage and type in the name of a journal.

Journal Finder searches the catalog, databases, and individual journal subscriptions in order to:

Steps to using Journal Finder:

  1. Identify the name of the journal, magazine or newspaper.
  2. Look up that journal name in Journal Finder, or follow the Journal Finder link from a database
  3. See if the dates covered by the print or online options match the date of your article.
  4. If so, use the provided link to get the article online or write down the location and call number for the print version
  5. If we don't have it, try Interlibrary Loan.

So where are these journals?
