This website provides lesson plans, links to online education information, and has a large question/answer archive available. Subjects covered include special populations, family life, technology in education, classroom management, and librarianship. Very comprehensive one stop website.

The Condition of Education 2002 and The Condition of Education 2007

Comprehensive summary using 48 indicators of the status and condition of education from the U.S. Department of Education. Five main areas are covered: participation in education; learner outcomes; student effort and educational progress; context of elementary and secondary education; context of postsecondary education. Downloadable PDF files are available.

Digest of Education Statistics

U.S. Department of Education Center for Education Statistics covers tables from 1995-2007 available online. Tables include all levels of education, elementary/secondary education, postsecondary education, federal programs, outcomes of education, international comparison, and learning resources and technology.

North Carolina Wise Owl

This website is from the North Carolina Department of Instruction. It provides resources for public schools and their faculty and parents from these institutions. There are several subscription databases, online encyclopedias , and e-books from the Virtual Reference Center available to use. Resources are geared to different grade levels so that there is something for all school ages.

South Eastern Regional Vision for Education (SERVE) - UNCG School of Education

This website is from the UNCG School of Education and is an organization that supports continuous improvement of educational opportunities for all learners in the southeastern United States. Their goal is to raise the achievement levels of all learners. There is access to research, papers, and links to other educational resources.

Statistical Abstracts of the United States State & County Quick Facts - U.S. Census Bureau

Quick, easy access to facts about business, people, and geography. Easy to use, just click on the state to start your search. Also includes a “Junior” version for younger students to understand and navigate.

Teaching Resources Center (TRC) - UNCG School of Education

This website is the portal to the Teaching Resource Center located in the Ferguson Building at UNCG. It provides instructional materials, equipment, and services to teachers and students, faculty and staff of the UNCG School of Education. Online resources are available as well as books geared to elementary and secondary education students. Special resources include: science and NASA materials, special education materials, PRAXIS I (PPST) practice software, Ellison letter machine, bibliographies, scanners, and equipment.

University Teaching and Learning Center (UTLC) - UNCG School of Education

This is the website for the UTLC, located at 134 McIver Building at UNCG. The Teaching and Learning Center The TLC provides instructional development activities, instructional materials, equipment, test and data scanning services, and consultation in instructional development and in the use of instructional technology. Videos, DVDs, AV Equipment and supplies can all be checked out here.

Educational Research Methodology

Buros Institute of Mental Measurements

BIMM provides professional assistance and information to users of commercially published tests. Website has a searchable database for users to find tests suited for their needs. Tests reviews are available online for purchase or UNCG has database, e-books and books to use (Mental Measurements Yearbook and Tests in Print) for access to these test reviews.

ERIC Clearinghouse on Assessment and Evaluation

A clearinghouse that provides balanced information about educational assessment, evaluation, and research methodology. Provides full text resources and on-line journals regarding practical assessment, research, and evaluation.

Educational Testing Service

Provides information regarding nationally recognized tests such as the GRE, SAT, PRAXIS, and TOEFL. Allows students to practice sample tests, find test centers, and register for tests. Also provides test taking strategies and resources for the test takers. Test takers with disabilities also are provided links and information for their use. Some policy and research reports on tests are available at the ETS website.

National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Teaching (CRESST)

Provides resources for research and evaluation to help improve student learning. Funded by the National Science Foundation and housed at UCLA, this center produces research papers and presentations on assessment evaluation. There is a RSS feed available and an “Ask the Expert” service to help answer accountability and testing questions.

National Council on Measurement in Education

Information regarding the science of educational measurement, efforts to improve measurement instruments, and dissemination of measurement theory. Mostly membership related information on the website – Annual Meeting info and minutes, newsletters, sample publications.

Profiles of State Education Systems and 50-State Reports - Council of Chief State School Officers

The state accountability system profiles is a password protected site. The other information from the CCSSO has resources, papers, newsletters, and information about state educational agencies.
