ERIC (EBSCO)

Abstracts and some tull text for almost a million references from over a thousand education journals (EJ) as well as published and unpublished educational materials such as school system reports, conference papers, research reports, and dissertations (ED)
Subjects: schools of all types and levels, parent-school relationships, counseling, vocational guidance, special education, child discipline, etc.
Most journals (EJ) available in Jackson Library or accessible through interlibrary loan
ERIC Documents (ED): Many full text pre-2004 documents are on microfiche in storage while the recent ED publications are available in full text online

Searches Education Full Text and Education Index Retrospective simultaneously
Indexes several hundred English-language periodicals and yearbooks as well as some books
Strong on educational and psychological topics covering all educational levels
Advantages compared to ERIC: indexes most of the core education journals and many of them are full text. Disadvantages: subject headings are not as varied or clear as ERIC nor is the subject coverage as deep or varied so it can be hard to find the right terms to get articles on your topic.

Indexes dissertations accepted at accredited US institutions since 1861

Provides the full text of UNCG dissertations and theses published after 1996. Provides abstracts for earlier years

Mental Measurements (EBSCO)

Corresponds to the printed Mental Measurements Yearbook
Full text information about and reviews of more than 2,000 commercially available, English-language standardized tests covering educational skills, personality, vocational aptitude, psychology, neuropsychology, achievement, intelligence, and related areas
It does not have the full text of the tests. For each test, the database provides the name of the test author, publication information, overview of the test, description of the test materials and time needed, intended populations, scoring information, the number of the Mental Measurements Yearbook in which the test was originally described, and one or more reviews of the test

ERIC/AE Test Locator

Descriptions of over 20,000 tests and research instruments from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Tests in Microfiche Collection and ERIC Document Reproduction Service
Describes commercially available tests in journal articles or book chapters that were created or verified after 1989
Content: descriptions of tests, citations to scholarly reviews of tests, and publisher contact information
Tests listed in the collection are NOT available from ERIC/AE; however, those from ETS are available on microfiche in Jackson Library: microfiche LB1131 .T550. If the contact information lists a person, organization, or publisher, contact them to inquire about the availability of the test.

On the Library's home page, click on Journal Finder
Enter the journal name (not the article title) such as Journal of Counseling and Development in the box and press the Enter key or click Search
If the title appears, click on the icon for the method of access you want
- Click on the computer icon to find full text online access to some articles
  - The database(s) and dates for full text are displayed
  - Choose a database and follow any instructions for finding specific journal titles
- Click on the book icon to locate print issues of the journal in the Library
  - The record shown will provide the holdings and location of the journal
  - Older years of journals are either bound and shelved by call number with the book collection in the stacks or are on microfilm arranged by film number in the microforms area on 2^nd Floor Main
  - Current issues are available on the Jackson Study Lounge shelves on 1^st Floor Main
