To look for the text of the article:
- Open Journal Finder from library home page
- Type the name of the journal

Each citation begins with a hyperlink. Hit it to see:
- Abstract (if available) – read to determine if this is a research article
- Subject links – lead to other articles covering the same topics, organisms, substances, etc.
At the summary/list level:
- You may choose to Refine Your Search: View or exclude certain records based on major concepts, source titles, etc.
- You may also choose to Analyze, or order your results by rank, based on major concept, super taxa, etc.
- Check boxes and choose "Add to marked list" (right side) to bookmark articles. A Marked List button will appear at the top of the window.
To look for the full text of the article:
- View Full Text (if available) will lead to the article
- Check for full text will launch a Journal Finder search in a pop-up window
Web of Science - Guide to articles published in 8,700 science and social science journals, 1955 - 2006. Includes a record of citations and links between articles which cite each other. Truncation symbol *. Allows nested searching: multiple myeloma and (homologous recombination or anti-sens*).

Web of Science results features resemble Biological Abstracts EXCEPT:
- There is no controlled vocabulary for articles (major concepts, taxa, etc.)
- There ARE references lists for each result, with links to references citing/cited by the result article.
Reference lists with links allow several unique ways to browse the literature:
- Sort by: Times Cited feature (right side of summary/list view)
- Find Related Records (detailed view of a result) searches "sideways" for other records that share the same works cited
- Cited References (detailed view of a result) leads "back" to any works cited by your result which are indexed by WoS
- Times Cited (detailed view of a result) leads "forward" to any works citing your result which are indexed in WoS
Google Scholar (Advanced Search) - Search peer reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts, and articles. Google Scholar help.
- Type a topic: antisens*
- If desired, enter a date range or the name of a journal you'd like to search
- Scan the first couple of lines of a result to determine whether the result is a journal, book, or web page.
To look for the text of an article:
- Click View as HTML (if available) or UNCG Journal Finder (if available)
- If those links are not available, click on the hyperlinked title to get more information about the item. Copy the full journal name and search it in Journal Finder from the library home page.
To look for a book:
- Click Library Search (if available) to go into Open WorldCat, a metacatalog that shows the contents of UNCG and other libraries
- If you see UNCG listed among libraries that own this book, click the Book link to goto our library catalog for call number and availability information.
