Interlibrary Loan

What is ILL?

When needed research materials are unavailable at UNCG, students, staff, and faculty members may request them through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Interlibrary Loan makes it possible for researchers to obtain books and photocopies of articles from libraries around the world.

Who can order?

All students, staff, and faculty members can use Interlibrary Loan.

How do I order?

There are two ways to request materials through ILL: electronically and by filling out request cards. To place a request electronically, simply go to Jackson Library's home page http://library.uncg.edu and under Quick Links click on "ILL Request Forms." This will take you to the Interlibrary Loan Forms page. Click on Request a book, dissertation and follow the instructions. Electronic requests are sent directly to the ILL office. Printed request cards are available in the ILL office and at the Reference Desk.

How do I get my order?

When a book comes in for you, either a copy of your electronic request, the blue request card that you filled out or an e-mail will be sent to you to notify you of its arrival. Please specify how you would like to be notified on the form. You may pick up books in the ILL office or, when that office is closed, at the Circulation Desk. You should return these books to the ILL office or the Circulation Desk, NOT to the book drops. Photocopies will be emailed or mailed directly to you. (If you use request cards, be sure to fill out the "address" side.)
