Interlibrary Loan

What is ILL?

When needed research materials are unavailable at UNCG, students, staff, and faculty members may request them through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Interlibrary Loan makes it possible for researchers to obtain books and electronica copies of articles from libraries around the world.

Who can order?

All students, staff, and faculty members can use Interlibrary Loan.

How do I order?

Simply go to Jackson Library's home page http://library.uncg.edu and click on "ILL Request Forms." Login to our ILL software (ILLiad) with your Novel login/password. Click on either Request a journal article, Request a loan, or Request a book chapter and follow the instructions filling out the form.

How do I get my order?

When your book comes in, an e-mail will be sent to you to notify you of its arrival. You can also log into ILLiad to check on the status of your request. You may pick up books in the ILL office or, when that office is closed, at the Circulation Desk. You should return these books to the ILL office or the Circulation Desk, NOT to the book drops. Electronic copies of requests will be emailed to you directly.

What is Desktop Delivery?

Non-circulating print items held in the library can be scanned by library staff and delivered to you electronically (NOTE: microfiche and microfilm scanning is limited to 25 pages max.). This document delivery service is for graduate students and faculty only, and the option is listed in the menu in ILLiad. Desktop Delivery provides basic, black-and-white scanned documents. For hi-resolution or color scans, please contact Lynda Kellam, Data Services and Government Information Librarian to make an appointment.
