National Institute of Nursing Research
Supports clinical and basic research to establish a scientific basis for the care of individuals across the life span. Includes a Publications site, and a Links site, with a useful Nursing Organizations list which even includes links to major nursing journals.

Bureau of Health Professions Nursing Resources
A wide variety of online reports concerning nursing education, employment, statistics, grants, and many other useful topics. Includes the shortage designation for medically Underserved Areas. and the preliminary findings of the 2004 National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses.

The Surgeon General's Reports
Lists virtually all such reports, dating from 1964 to the present, covering topics such as HIV/AIDS, smoking and tobacco use, violence, and nutrition . ONLY those from 1994 onward are available online, full text. Earlier reports may be found in the Government Documents Department of the Jackson Library.
