ERIC (Education Resources Information Center)
ERIC is the world’s premier database of journal and non-journal education literature. The ERIC online system provides more than 1.1 million citations going back to 1966. UNCG has serval databases that link to ERIC.
 
FREE (Federal Resources for Educational Excellence)
FREE offers free access (esp. useful for students and teachers) to hundreds of internet-based education resources supported by numerous federal agencies. A multitude of K-12 topics are covered.
 
National Library of Education
The library branch of DOE, which houses information and resources related to DOE programs. Among the highly useful sites maintained at the NLE: Gateway To Educational Materials, providing access to high quality lesson plans, curriculum units and other education resources on the Internet, and the very useful Education Publications Online site which is also searchable. Most are free, online, but some must be ordered.
 
NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education)
NCATE is the primary accreditation and standard-setting body for all schools of education in the United States.
 
CHAE (Council for Higher Education Accreditation )
CHAE coordinates higher education accreditation activity in the United States.
 
YAHOO Education Resources
As with other topics, YAHOO is hard to beat for a good variety of subject links.
 
National Research and Development Centers

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)
UNESCO maintains a very informative Statistics Institute, with access to a variety of international education statistics, including the UNESCO Statistical Yearbook. UNESCO also maintains an excellent international education information Statistical Links site.
