- Manuscript items from the papers of the Presidents, held by the Library
of Congress. The Manuscript Division holds the papers of 23
of America's presidents, with more to be added in the future. At present,
only major collections from Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Thoedore
Roosevelt are available online (see below).

of Presidents and First Ladies
- The selected images include at least one likeness of each of the presidents
and most of the first ladies, BUT also includes a great variety of images
related to each presidency. The easiest manner of access is the Time
Line of Presidents and First Ladies. Most images can be shown and
copied in either a high resolution JPEG version or an uncompressed archival
TIFF version. Images can also be ordered online.

- From Michigan State University, selected recorded speeches of the presidents
beginning with Benjamin Harrison in 1889. Best approached through the
online list of Presidents and Vice Presidents recordings. Most of the
recordings are fairly brief.

parties secretly recorded just under 5,000 hours of conversations. This
site is designed as a service to the research community by making freely
available all of the presidential recordings, along with relevant research

collection of important documents.

collection of presidential papers from the beginning through 1908.
