The collections in Jackson Library are located in the main building and tower.. Consult the Stack Guide to locate books and bound journals in Jackson Library after you have obtained a call number. Copies are available at the Access Services Desk. Stack guides are also posted in the elevators, and on each stack floor. UNCG students, faculty, and staff may place a request for material in Closed Stacks or Storage online or at the Access Services Desk. All others must place requests at the Access Services Desk.
To obtain the title's call number use the Online Catalog. You may search for books by title, author, subject, or keyword. To locate serial titles (magazines,journals, etc) search by title.
The Online Catalog will display the information that you will need, including the item's call number, its location (Book Stacks, Lobby, Reserve Desk, etc) and its current status (Available, CheckedOut, OnHold, In Transit, etc). If the item's status is Available, you may go to its location and find it on the shelf. If the item is not available or is in an unfamiliar location, you may ask at the Access Services desk. If you have questions about using the Online Catalog or need something that is not in our library, consult with staff at the Reference desk.
