When searching the Library's catalog, you may find items you would like to examine which are checked out. You may place your own request online to have these items recalled and held for you at the Access Services Desk, or you may initiate requests at the Access Services Desk by filling out a Request Card.
Books are loaned for varying periods, but any book requested will be recalled. Even a book with a due date several weeks or months ahead will be recalled. All books are subject to recall for other users after the current borrowers have had them checked out for 21 days. When recalled to be placed on course reserve, the 21 days check out period does not apply; these items are subject to immediate recall. This policy applies to all books and all borrowers.
You will be notified by e-Spartan email when the book is ready for you to pick up.

Items with Due dates and no request link can not be requested online or in person.
If more that one person has requested a book, you may not be the first in line to receive the book. Personnel at the Access Services Desk can tell you how many requests are ahead of yours. Requests are honored on a first placed, first serve basis with the exception for books to be placed on reserve. Books for reserve receive top priority and cancel the requests for all other users. Requesting users will be notified that the book is on reserve and may use it according to the reserve loan period.
When recalled items are not returned by assigned recall due dates, the patron from which the item was recalled may be subject to a $75.00 fee for non-return of the item as well as having their library account barred from use until the item is returned or replaced. Once an item is recalled if a claimed returned is filed on the item, it does not alleviate the borrower of the obligation to return or replace the book while it is being searched. We can not put these items into claimed return status.
