Jean Farley graduated with a major in English from the Woman’s College (now UNCG) in 1950. She has worked as a poetry editor at the Kenyon Review in Ohio, where she resides with her husband, Ellington White; and her poetry has appeared in major literary journals and has been widely anthologized.
This collection includes an original typescript with manuscript corrections and revisions for Farley's book of poems, Figure and Field (UNC Press, 1970), and a number of additional poems in manuscript drafts.
