<p>
<persname normal="Bell, Thelma">Thelma Harrington Bell</persname> <date>(1896-1985)</date> and <persname normal="Bell, Corydon">Corydon Whitten Bell</persname> <date>(1894-1980)</date> were <subject>North Carolina authors</subject>. As a husband and wife team, they wrote and illustrated a number of <subject>children's books</subject>, many about <geogname>North Carolina</geogname>. In 1961 Thelma Bell received the <subject>Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's Book Award</subject>, and several of the Bells' books have been <subject>Junior Literary Guild</subject> selections. Corydon Bell also did illustrations for magazines and books by other authors.
