How do I request it? ...fill out an Interlibrary Loan request form and indicate you are Distance Ed.
What if the book is checked out? ...click REQUEST under the due date and we'll mail to you once we receive it back from the person who had it checked out - OR - try searching a library near you; if they don't own the book, they can borrow it from anywhere for you.

... journal articles and newspaper articles are NOT in our online catalog.
What is a database? ... the library subscribes to over 400 electronic databases which index various journals and their articles, many with full text available online. Search in a database to find articles on your topic.
Which database do I choose? ...try our subject guides to find databases, other e-resources, and sometimes course guides related to your topic. A subject specialist librarian will also be listed here if you need help or have questions related to that subject area. There are some tutorials on searching specific databases if you need help.
How do I find only scholarly/peer reviewed articles? ... most databases contain scholarly articles. When searching in a database, look for a box you can check to provide only scholarly/peer-reviewed results (not available in all databases). Here is a tutorial on scholarly/peer-reviewed articles.
If the database doesn't have full text of an article, can I find it elsewhere? ... if you know the title of the journal, search (over 35,000 electronic journal titles) through Journal Finder to see if immediate online access is available through other means. Check out this tutorial for help.
How can I get a copy of an article not available through an online database or Journal Finder? ... request it through our Interlibrary Loan request form and indicate that you are Distance Ed. It takes 2-10 days to deliver and will be available electronically for you. As a last resort you can also try Infotrieve, a document delivery service, where you can search free of charge for the article (we pay per request). You will need to create an account before using this service. Check out this tutorial for help.
