Jackson Library Faculty Services
- eReserves: Journal articles and limited excerpts from books can be made available in BlackBoard using the electronic reserves process. Fill out this MS Word doc and email your attached reserve lists to reserves@uncg.edu. If you have hard copy accompanying materials, deliver the lists and materials to the Access Services Desk in Jackson Library or mail them to the Reserve Office, Room 118 Jackson Library.
- Support: Try the distance ed librarian or your subject specific librarian for in-person office hours, chat, email, or phone help.
- Books & Articles: Visit the main de page for details.
- Document Delivery: need something we have only in print? we will scan and email it to you. Available for all grad students and faculty through ILL.
- Instruction: librarians may provide instructional related services to you, if you contact us in advance, such as:
- Visiting a remote location for library instruction.
- An embedded librarian in Blackboard available for threaded discussions or virtual office hours.
- Teaching an Elluminate synchronous session.
- Creation of tutorials/screencasts of specific online tasks or resources.
- Push of online library resources into Blackboard classes.
- An online portal/Web site of resources for classes.

BEEP, standing for Best Educational E-Practices is an online publication produced by St. Petersburg College and Project Eagle. BEEP is bi-monthly and provides annotated links to many useful resources for online education.
- American Distance Education Consortium provides a number of resources for those wishing to keep up on developments in distance ed.
- Annual Conference on Distance Teaching & Learning web site has links to papers, handouts, media, and presentations from the last 4 years of the conference.
- Faculty Development 101, created by the Penn State World Campus, provides an orientation to distance learning and information on many aspects of the process of moving to online instruction.
- Online Design Checklist provides a way to assess your course web site. Using a frame format, you can bring up the web site for your course in the main pane while filling out the checklist on the left hand side.
- University of Washington's Catalyst web site provides both a How-to section with step by step instructions for various technology tasks and a set of Teaching Guides that provide suggestions and ideas for how to use technology in teaching.
- Illinois Online Network provides a list of Online Education Resources divided up into categories, with information on everything from assessment to web design to intellectual property and everything in between.
- Distance Education at a Glance, produced by the University of Idaho provides a set of 13 guides to various aspects of Distance Education.
- Distance Education Workshop Resources distance education workshop resources from UNCG's Teaching and Learning Center.
- Merlot is a repository of links to online learning materials complete with peer reviews and annotations.
