Bookmarklets

A bookmarklet is a piece of javascript code that enables you to extend the capabilites of your web browser. To add a bookmarklet to your browser, you simply add it to your bookmarks or Favorites list in Internet Explorer or Firefox. You can do this by right-clicking on the link and selecting either "Add to Favorites" or "Bookmark this Link." Even easier is to simply click and drag the bookmarklet to your bookmarks toolbar, if you use it.

Here are some bookmarklets that might be useful for UNCG students and faculty. To use the bookmarklets, simply highlight on the web page the word or phrase which you wish to search for, then click the bookmark and it will search the resource for the highlighted words. If you do not highlight anything, the bookmarklet will bring up a box in which you can enter your search terms.

For more bookmarklets or more information on them, try the Bookmarklets home page.
