That's how this issue of the Leaks might have sounded, had it been on schedule, but now it's so late that we haven't got the time for much rumination or weighty pondering. (This may actually be to the reader's advantage...) Let me (Susan) just take the time to say this: It is all my fault. Lillian begged, wheedled and cajoled, and still I insisted on putting all of my energy into the frivolous meanderings that make up my day, resolutely ignoring all of the threats and pleas conducted by e-mail, phone and sky-writing. So when the talk at the water cooler turns to the dereliction of duties exhibited by the Leaks editors, please, let me bear the brunt of your criticism -- Lillian is blameless. [Okay, Lillian?!? May I please have my car keys back now?]
Before we move on to the contents, we'd like to report on the "paper vs. web" poll that we initiated with the last issue. Only one person would have preferred to receive the Jackson Leaks in paper, so we will continue with the web-only version, printing off one copy for Archives. The Lorax, and all of his truffula trees, offer their thanks.
As for the news, we know we didn't get to every employee in person, but rest assured, those who escaped our probing curiosity this time, will not be spared come December! We hope you enjoy this issue, and have a great fall semester.
