We gather together to thank all these people
They've worked here forever and that is a feat!
A couple are getting quite close to their retirement,
And then there are the ons who've just begun the fight.
At five years is Audrey who works in the Bind'ry
She fixes the items our patrons destroy.
At ten years is Nancy who orders all the items,
And Cataloger Paul who puts things in their place.
And then we've got five who have laboured for fifteen,
There's Gaylor who's ILL and borrows like mad.
Then Sandi Acquires while Cora checks them out,
And underground are Ted and Jim - two basement men.
Now John, he's done plety -- he's been here for twenty!
He worked at the Circ Desk and now in Systems.
For quarter of centuries there are just two fine entries
There's Shirley who's upstairs now and Fran who's not.
We saved one whole verse for a woman who started
As a student worker some thirty years back.
She's ending quite Specially and preservation minded --
That means our things will last long after she takes off.
So there you have heard it -- a dozen employees
Who marked this here year as divided by five.
We're happy they work here and thank them for their efforts
Which help to keep the library -- and us -- alive!
